Our Mission Statement

 

Our objective is to rebuild a homeowners association that serves its members well, with accountability and transparency.

 

We strive to give you a voice as we focus on working together to improve our neighborhood.

 

Our Goals

 

 

Here are some specific reasons that we are running for the Board of the Park Glen Neighborhood

Association:

 

Assure Accountability and Transparency

*Return power to homeowners through their representatives on the Board. The elected Board

      should direct the management and operation of the HOA.

*Give Park Glen homeowners the voice they should have in their neighborhood.

*Advance notice and accurate agendas before all meetings; accurate and complete summaries of

      public and closed sessions after meetings.

*Closed "executive session" meetings very rare: only when absolutely necessary rather than

      whenever allowed.

*Meetings held at a location convenient to Park Glen members, ideally within Park Glen.

 

Operate by Ethical and Legal Principles

*Ensure that all operations, proceedings, and decisions meet a high standard of "fair, proper, and legal"

      according to Association By-Laws, Texas law, and common sense.

*Conduct fair and open elections that follow common-sense guidelines established in advance.

      Utilize neutral parties to conduct elections and count votes to ensure fairness and openness.

      Election results to be determined and announced before the end of the annual meeting to prevent

      controversy and voter suspicion.

 

Establish Accurate, Open, and Responsible Finances

*Financial and spending information available to all members.

*Determine the Association's actual financial position, including an analysis of surplus funds and a

      review of old uncollected amounts owed to the Association.

*Have regular Audits of accounting systems, records, and financial reports.

*Reduce expense wherever possible to ensure that mandatory assessments collected from

      homeowners are spent wisely and not wasted.

*Obtain competitive bids for management company, other contractors, and major expenses.

 

Provide Excellent Service to Homeowners

*Never forget why we were elected: to serve homeowners to the best of our ability, putting in the

      time and unselfish dedication required to carry out our roles and improve our neighborhood.

*Establish an effective way for homeowners to discuss issues with the Board and management

      company in public or private, as desired.

*Streamline the Park Glen website, and make it user-friendly.

*Enact Board oversight of property violation standards and procedures, including fines and late

      fees assessed to members.

*Re-establish the high level of trust and confidence that homeowners once had in their Neighborhood 

     Association.
